Thinking Your Customers Are “Different” Can Leave You Broke

In 3 Minutes and 7 Seconds Discover How Thinking Your Prospects are “Different” Could Be Disastrous

Have you ever had someone evaluate your marketing, advertising, or business plan?  It can be tough to put your business on the line for someone to criticize.  Even more when that person or “expert” makes suggestions it can be hard to take.  You have put your heart and soul into your business and change can be difficult.

Now when that person makes suggestions, provides insights, looks to make changes have you ever thought or uttered the words:

I don’t think you understand my customers are different!

Thinking your customers are different can lead you down the path of building a “brand” that doesn’t make you any money.  While you might recognize the brands of Red Bull, Coke, Nike, etc they started with core products that added value and then built a brand.  More importantly they got their customers to LOVE what they offered before building a massive brand (check the story of Phil Knight making waffle racers and selling them out of a car).

Let your marketing embrace what is important to your prospects

Before you start thinking your customers are so DIFFERENT, regardless of their income level, I invite you to ask yourself the following questions.

  • Is saving money important to my prospects?
  • Is saving time important to my prospects?
  • Do my prospects value quality?
  • Will having a powerful guarantee lower the fear level of my prospects?

Whether you are selling to the luxury market, middle class, or the “masses” answering the questions above will have you focusing on what is most important to YOUR prospects.  Far too often business owners get lost in “building a brand” that they forget what is actually important to their prospects.  Reaching people at the core of what is important to them and providing great service will bring you more customers and help you build your brand at the same time.

When you are looking to make changes to your marketing pieces, keep in mind two very simple concepts.

  1. What is my marketing message?
  2. How easy is it for prospects to take action?

Keeping these two questions in mind, regardless of the marketing piece will have you developing a complete marketing strategy that delivers new leads and sales daily.
