When you think of marketing to affluent prospects, what first comes to mind?  Do you think of the big brands that have had massive successes such as Rolex, Ferrari, and Coach?  While these brands have defined themselves in the luxury segment, unless you have 10’s of millions laying around to invest in building a brand, trying to model after their success will just result in you throwing away your hard earned money.

Creating a marketing strategy for the affluent prospect, while it has many components, can be boiled down to 2 key aspects.

Those who make over $500,000 a year have the same goals as many people: Save Time and Save Money.  The challenge is that in order to reach these prospects, your message better be LASER focused to reach them as they value their time more than most people (that’s why they are successful).  Just think for a moment, how closely a Dentist, Surgeon, and Lawyer book their appointments.  This group of professionals understands that their time is valuable and when you can reach to them with an opportunity to achieve their goals (especially with the option of saving time and money) you will have marketing that brings in the prospects that you truly desire.

A marketing strategy to reach affluent prospects doesn’t have to be complex

Reaching this target market can’t be done with the same tired marketing materials that most people use.  Now, don’t get me wrong you don’t have to go over the top with high-glitz imagery, videos and more, but you do HAVE to make it professional and EASY for someone to achieve their desired goal.

Just think for a moment if you went into the Doctor’s waiting room and there was trash around the chairs, it smelled funny, and the pictures on the wall were faded.  Would you have the confidence that that Dr would pay attention to your needs in detail?
