Dive in with Training on Email Marketing

Do you have an email newsletter you are sending out?  When you have inventory that you want to move do you rush to your computer to send out a “blast” email? Have you noticed that the response rates on your emails have dwindled compared with a year ago? Is email a KEY part of your overall marketing strategy?

Increasing mail costs and the ease of putting email into action has increased the volume of emails that people receive 10 fold.  As most business owners see it there is no “cost” associated with emailing.  After all, you are already paying the bill for your server; why not send out a few thousand emails?  Tragically most business owners will send out emails and barely hear back from their customer base.  You could literally give away the store and you might not hear hardly a word because your prospects found it easier to click “Delete” than it was to actually read your email.

With the right email marketing methods in place you will be in the top 1% of business owners

The majority of emails get deleted or marked as spam simply because people are following bad advice or making common mistakes that can be fixed in minutes.  To jump start your results today, I invite you to consider the following email marketing methods.

  1. Interest Piquing Subject Line – Far too often the subject line dooms the email.  Just envision your email inbox and 60% of the messages have something related to “free” or “greatest deal” in the subject line…those are doomed to get deleted.  When you want your message to stand out it is essential to have a subject line that makes it irresistible for people NOT to take action.  This comes down to identifying what is most important to your customers (time, money, value, etc) and avoiding the spam filters at the same time.
  2. Vary Your Email Styles – Only sending emails where you are asking them to make a purchase will get you marked in the “follow up later” pile.  Using email marketing for your business means creating emails that add value, tell a story, share a testimonial, and pique interest.  Let those that are in your database know you are there for more than just selling them your product/service.
  3. Length of Follow Up – Sending an email every now and then or when you have a sale isn’t enough.  Improving your response rate means having an email marketing plan that follows up with people for 90 days, 180 days, even over a year.  Optimally you have different email follow up sequences for those who invest in your product compared to those who haven’t.
  4. Make it Obvious on HOW to Take Action – Each email should have a goal.  Give people an option to call you, email you back, or revisit your website.  Don’t confuse them by giving them all 3 options in a single email; just make it clear on what you want them to do.

When you can create interest piquing subject lines, vary your email styles, have a long follow up sequence, and make it clear and obvious on HOW a prospect can take action then you will be in the top 1% of business owners getting the most from their email marketing.
